What this site is
cpvcodes.eu is a free search tool for the Common Procurement Vocabulary, the classification every public buyer in the European Union uses to describe what it is buying. It covers all 9,454 codes of the main vocabulary in 23 languages, plus the 1,971 NUTS 2024 regions used to say where a contract will be performed.
Where the data comes from
CPV codes and their wording are taken verbatim from Commission Regulation (EC) No 213/2008 as revised in 2013, which is the version in force. NUTS data comes from Eurostat GISCO, NUTS 2024, in force since 1 January 2024. Nothing is paraphrased or generated - the descriptions you see are the official ones.
What it is not
This is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the European Commission or any national procurement authority, and it is not an official source.
